The Black Holes residency is organized by Totaldobže Art Centre in Riga as part of Creative Europe project, Artist-Run Network Europe.

The Black Holes residency is aimed at artists working with, or interested in working with, artist-run initiatives. From August 1st till 21st, six artists from around Europe will be invited for a three-week-long, process-based residency in Riga.

The focus of the residency is sharing and collaboration. The participants will take part in interdisciplinary workshops, and exchange knowledge and skills from their own experiences. The workshops will be facilitated by invited experts, and the overall residency will be moderated by two local artists. This opportunity would suit an artist interested in getting to know different European contexts and artist-run initiatives.

Totaldobre will offer each artist up to €250 travel expenses, €300 subsistence, free accommodation, and a shared budget for communal meals.

• An outline of how you think you could benefit from and contribute to the residency (max. 500 words or link to 3-minute video/audio file with password)

• Examples of previous work (max. 3 examples)

• Artist’s biography (max. 250 words)

• Artist’s CV (max. 3 pages)

The deadline is Thursday 21 April at 12pm. Applicants must be a member of the Ormston House Membership Scheme.
